Performance test of an ORC exhaust energy recovery module

With the aim of recovering exhaust heat produced by internal combustion engines, Liebherr Machines Bulle SA has developed a mechanical energy production system that uses organic fluid machine technology (ORC).

Facilities at the Thermal and Energy Laboratory (including a thermal oil industrial boiler and a system of heating and cooling circuits for industrial thermal machines) were used to evaluate the performance of Liebherr’s energy recovery module.
