Environmentally responsible energy management software for Lithium batteries integrating the phenomenon of ageing
The main objective of the project is to demonstrate experimentally that the large-scale installation of batteries for electrochemical energy storage (EES) equipped with energy management software integrating the notion of ageing is the best solution to meet the energy strategy 2050.
The key elements behind this objective are:
- EES can increase self-consumption of energy and thereby reduce CO2 emissions.
- An ageing EES deployment strategy maximises battery life, while increasing self-consumption of renewable energy and reducing CO2 emissions.
- An EES system with minimal ageing can be used by electricity distributors to provide ancillary services to the electricity grid (peak load disconnection and frequency/voltage control).
