Using augmented reality (AR) based on the digital models of the Smart Living Lab to communicate the project design

This project uses augmented reality (AR) to generate an interactive visualisation of the future Smart Living Lab. In a first step, the team imported digital models of the building into an AR application and superimposed them on the real space, i.e. the construction site, the physical model and the 2D building plans.

Users are able to activate or deactivate different layers of information on their tablet, e.g. architectural blueprint, building structure, MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) systems, radon protection solution, the photovoltaic system and the solar irradiation map.

The team also plans to integrate additional functions, in particular one that allows users to call up information on materials and products, as well as performance monitoring data.
