The use of digital twin for research purposes

Controlled Environments for Living Lab Studies (CELLS) is a research infrastructure consisting of two seemingly similar rooms that allow testing of different comfort and automation levels under real-life conditions of use. The aim of the project is to provide researchers with a digital twin of this research infrastructure to test experiments virtually before they are implemented in real life.

The first step of the project enabled preparation of the model to be used for dynamic thermal and natural lighting simulations. The following steps should allow us to convert the BIM model into a digital twin, in order to do life cycle analysis and monitor building performance.
