The Radon and Indoor Air Quality Centre of Western Switzerland (croqAIR) houses the technical service for radon gas risk management in the building, on behalf of the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH).

Officially opened in the French-speaking region of Switzerland in 2016, croqAIR works under a mandate from the Radon Delegate of the FOPH. This mandate was originally received by the HEIA-FR in 2009.

Its activities are divided into three main areas:

• research
• service provision
