This project is a collaborative effort between HEIA-FR TRANSFORM Institute and EPFL HOBEL to advance the state of knowledge of indoor radon.

The project has multiple objectives:
1) to characterise various methods for long and short-term assessment of radon and propose the optimal methodology for a given purpose; 2) to deploy the adopted measurement methodology in order to characterise the levels of radon exposure in residential and educational buildings in Switzerland; 3) to explore the existing FOPH database on indoor radon in order to draw conclusions about key parameters that influence the concentrations and characteristics of indoor radon, including but not limited to building characteristics, climate variations and occupancy behaviour.
