Jana Konstantinova is fascinated by the rich spatial, cultural and artistic qualities of the Yugoslav cities. In the search for a paradigm for a healthier, more satisfying and more sustainable environment the lecture will explore the ‘concept of balance’ developed within the Yugo City. The lecture will challenge the question of the human creativity within the ongoing multi-dimensional planetary pressing issues and complexities with caused and consequence by a common symptom – the negligence of the humans. The Yugo City presents a laboratory where the human is positioned centrally and presents a unique opportunity for explorations of the Equity Oriented planning, and development prone to human talent. Such an approach not only explores the Yugoslav Critical model as a possible counter model within the current context but also offers a narrative for a sensible reply to some of the sustainability questions within the current Post-Colonial, Post-Capitalist, and De-Growth ongoing debates.
